X-Men: First Class, Canon Or Un-Canon? An Infographic
The newest installment in the X-Men franchise is in theaters, only this time, it’s a prequel. X-Men: First Class tells the story of how Professor X first formed his school for gifted mutants and explores his relationship with the man who would be Magneto, before their friendship turned to enmity. But if you’re a hardcore fan of the previous four movies, then what you really want to know is whether this movie fits the continuity already established for these characters. The answer to that question is… kind of.
To help you find your way through the connections between First Class we’ve put together an infographic, detailing which parts of this new movie fit with what we’ve already learned in the others (canon) and which parts simply don’t (un-canon). Check out the infographic below, comparing the specifics of X-Men: First Class with the mutant world in X-Men, X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. WARNING! The following infographic contains spoilers for X-Men: First Class. We’ve tried to avoid spoiling the biggest surprises in the film, but to really compare the franchise connections, we’ve had to dish out at least a few.
