BREAKING MOVIE NEWS
This weekend, audiences will be able to watch Josh Brolin star in the brand new film from Joel and Ethan Coen… but that’s hardly a first-time event. Clearly they work well together, but what could explain the reason why? Well, according to Brolin it all has to deal with their respective ability to exploit each other’s weaknesses.
Come 2018, it’s predicted that every known hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will join together in a battle against Thanos – a galactic emperor working to acquire the abilities of a god with the help of the six Infinity Stones.
At this stage in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there is arguably no character more influential than Thanos. First played by Josh Brolin in Guardians of the Galaxy, the giant purple alien’s hunt for all of the Infinity Stones has had an effect on everything we’ve seen from the franchise so far, and he will serve as the central villain in the Phase Three two-part capstone.
For such a grand character to make such a grand entrance, Marvel seems to have made the right choice in their casting of Josh Brolin as Thanos. The only question is: how does he feel about taking on such a role?
Now, the bad news. Hail, Caesar! won’t be in theaters until February 5, 2016. That’s an eternity. If you need us, we’ll be over here, watching the trailer again and again.
Josh Brolin was one of the many actors to be cosndiered to play Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. As we all know, Ben Affleck eventually scored the role, and Brolin recently expressed his feelings about being passed over.
As it turns out, deciding to play the most notorious and all-powerful villain of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was easier than expected for Josh Brolin. While out promoting his latest film, Sicario, he dished on the “Mad Titan” Thanos.
Jake Gyllenhaal was not as widely praised for his wrestling drama Southpaw as some predicted, but could Everest be his savior? The first reviews are in and critics are trying to flush out whether Everest will rise as an early contender of the 2016 Oscar race.
The Mad Titan Thanos has faced off against numerous heavy-hitters of the Marvel Universe since his first appearance in 1973. With Josh Brolin primed and ready to take on the entire heroic roster of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Infinity War, just which hero is he most excited to take on?
Thanos just couldn’t help himself in showing up for an instant in the Avengers 2 post-credits scene. While you can re-watch this scene on the Age of Ultron home release, the clip hit the web in glorious HD for your enjoyment. Check it out below.
Making a disaster film set on Mount Everest probably sounded like a great idea on paper. The problem is, though, when it became time to turn that script into a reality, the cast and crew involved knew that they would have to confront the elements head on to truly bring the tale to life.
As the trailer educates us, “Sicario” means “hitman” in Mexico, and Emily Blunt plays one of a trio of law-enforcement agents who cross the border on a shadowy and mysterious assignment to track the head of a brutal syndicate, hoping to eliminate his growing threat.
The Everest trailer is another beast all together. Cut together with that haunting high-pitched piano pluck and foreboding words, the footage features a cast that includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Josh Brolin and Jason Clarke as they make their way up to the tippy top of the most famous mountain, only to get knocked back down.
The upcoming crime thriller, Sicario has released its very first images showing what seems to be an intriguing cast dynamic between stars, Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin and Benecio Del Toro. The film focuses on an FBI agent played by Blunt who is placed into the world of Mexican drug cartels. Based on what's being seen, the ordeal will leave her marked not only ethically, but physically. Check out the new photos to see what we mean!
Thanos has popped up in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe just twice so far, but his presence has loomed large, as fans have been teased and promised further interactions between the monstrous villain and the famous ensemble of superheroes. And with Avengers: Age Of Ultron tantalizingly close to release, the big question now is will Thanos appear in the sequel?
Hey Cyndi Lauper. Why haven’t they started filming The Goonies 2 yet? Because the script isn’t “good enough! For you it’s … good enough."
In addition to this year featuring many outstanding leading men roles, we have also seen some truly incredible smaller character work from actors like J.K. Simmons, and Edward Norton. That being said, the Golden Globes have made the mistake of failing to nominate the true best supporting actor performance of the year.
In case you couldn't already tell, Thanos is kind of a big deal in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only is he an incredibly powerful intergalactic warlord, but he has already orchestrated some major events and has demonstrated huge plans for the future.
As Thanos, Josh Brolin is playing one of the scariest, most intimidating figures in the Marvel Universe. Even more than the fact that he is humungous physically and possesses incredible influence throughout the galaxy, the Mad Titan also eventually possess powers that give him the ability of a god. He inspires quite a good deal of fear wherever he goes – and weirdly enough that even extends to Josh Brolin.
Because The Goonies celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon started with sequel talk. Brolin played along, but emphasized that these conversations happen every couple of years.
