The Classic Star Wars Character Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown Really Wants To Play

Millie Bobby Brown has become one of the most popular young actors on television thanks to her role as Eleven in the hit Stranger Things. Now, the actress says she'd like to try something very different in the future, maybe a role in a galaxy far, far away. Brown recently told an east coast comic-con crowd that she would love to play Princess Leia if that role was ever available in the future.

If they made -- I think they are making another Star Wars, I would love a role like that. Because I want to do something far from Eleven or Madison.

Are they making another Star Wars? Oh yeah, they'll be making a few more of those. Millie Bobby Brown has done most of her work on television including Stranger Things and the BBC's Intruders, which was a similarly themed dramatic science fiction series. It's not surprising that Brown would tell Rhode Island Comic-Con that she's looking toward something very different for a future role, and who wouldn't want to be Princess Leia? She's one of the strongest women in genre movies of the last several decades, and unlike previous eras, the desire to play Princess Leia could actually lead to something.

While we have no expectation to see a younger Princess Leia in any of the new Star Wars films, like Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, or the upcoming Han Solo movie, that doesn't mean that we won't see one at some point down the road. Any movie set in between the first two trilogies could have the potential to feature a young Leia and if the Han Solo movie especially is a hit, it could very well open up opportunities for films about the other characters.

While not every character's early life would open itself up to an interesting film, a Luke Skywalker movie would just follow him farming and wanting to leave home, a Princess Leia movie is hardly the worst idea somebody could have. The woman led a double life growing up as both a political leader from the planet Alderaan, while also being a member of the Rebel Alliance. How did she end up joining the rebellion? How did she negotiate the politics of living in a galaxy under Imperial rule? These are interesting questions that could lead to interesting movies. Also, Millie Bobby Brown would probably get to try out some pretty awesome hairstyles, which could also be enticing as a departure from Eleven.

The idea of Millie Bobby Brown as a young Princess Leia is an enticing idea that we'd be at least a little curious about. What do you think? Should they make a Princess Leia movie? Who would you cast in the role? Let us know in the comments.
