Amber Heard Is Being Sued For Allegedly Undermining One Of Her Movies

Being an actor involves more than simply standing in front of a camera and reading lines. Actors have to negotiate terms, come to agreements, and promote films once they have actually shot their scenes. The process can be incredibly convoluted, and legal drama has become an incredibly common phenomenon in Hollywood. With that in mind, it seems that Amber Heard has once again found herself in the news, as the producers of her new film are suing her for allegedly undermining the project.

A new report from THR indicates that the producers of London Fields are in the process of suing Amber Heard. According to the complaint, the Justice League actress allegedly refused to shoot the film according to the script provided for her, and subsequently refused to attend the Toronto International Film Festival in order to promote the picture. This is reportedly a breach of her contract for the film, and if she loses, she could pay up to $10 million in damages.

Amber Heard London Fields

Overall, it sounds like the production of London Fields became a very tumultuous process for Amber Heard. The creative clashes behind the scenes were likely made even more difficult due to her marital problems with Johnny Depp. In fact, the production of the film has widely been cited as a driving force behind the dissolution of their marriage.

Oddly enough, this lawsuit is only the latest in a series of legal situations that have plagued the release of London Fields in recent months. The film's director, Matthew Cullen, recently filed another lawsuit against London Fields' producers on the grounds that they "hijacked" the final cut of the film from him. As time has gone by, it has become increasingly clear that a very firm line has been drawn in the sand, with the actors and director on one side, and the film's producers on the other. Against Cullen's wishes, the producers' cut of the film reportedly includes "incendiary imagery evoking 9/11 jumpers edited against pornography." Needless to say, this has become one of the most fascinating Hollywood productions in recent memory.

It's a shame that London Fields has had such a tumultuous behind the scenes existence in recent months, because the project actually sounds intriguing. Based upon a Martin Amis novel, London Fields follows the story of a clairvoyant young woman who lives through her day-to-day life with the knowledge that she will eventually be murdered. Over the course of the story, she finds herself immersed in a love affair with three different men -- one of whom will ultimately kill her.
