How Long Chris Pratt Wants To Stay In The MCU

The Marvel Cinematic Universe already had two actors named Chris occupying major roles pre-2014, but Chris Pratt completed the trinity when Guardians of the Galaxy came out. While Pratt had already starred in a few action movies, Guardians of the Galaxy marked his first time leading a major live action movie, and his performance as Peter Quill, a.k.a. Star-Lord, was among the many reasons the movies was positively received. Pratt reprised Star-Lord for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and will return with his fellow Guardians for Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but as with the other Marvel actors, his contract only stretches so far. However, Pratt wants to extend his time with Marvel for as long as possible, because he's having a blast. As he put it:

I'll tell you, as much as I love Marvel, it doesn't matter how many I have contracted because I'm going to continue to work with them.

It's unclear exactly how many more movies Chris Pratt is signed on for in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In 2015, he said he would likely appear as Star-Lord "three or five" more times following Guardians of the Galaxy. Four future movies are already accounted for, so that would leave him at least one more movie on his current contract. But if the actor has his way, he'll be working with Marvel for longer than that, even if it means sticking around when he's not wanted. As he told Slashfilm when asked if he was interested in renewing his contract:

Totally, dude. I want to -- I love working with them I'm going to continue to work with them whether they like it or not. Even if they write me out, I'm going to show up on set and be like, 'Hey, man!' They're done. They don't get to shake me.

Well, Marvel creators, you might as well keep a chair around your sets for Chris Pratt, because whether Star-Lord lives to a ripe old age or is killed in an epic battle against alien conquerors, the actor will be coming around to hang out. But seriously, it'll be a long time before Pratt has to think about extending his Marvel contract. His MCU appearances are covered for at least the next three years, and with his popularity having soared in recent years, it's not like he'll have any trouble finding other work. Remember, when he's not fighting Thanos alongside the other Guardians and Earth's Mightiest Heroes next year, he'll also be squaring off against dinosaurs again in Jurassic World 2. There's enough out there to keep him busy on the big screen.

You can see Chris Pratt back in action as Star-Lord when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is released next Friday, May 5.
