Man Who Jumped Taylor Swift's Fence Won't Be Prosecuted

The twenty-four-year-old man police busted on Taylor Swift’s property earlier this month will not be officially charged by Nashville prosecutors. On December 14, authorities caught Jacob Kulke lingering around the singer’s house. He reportedly told the responders he was the pop star’s boyfriend, but upon further review, he was actually a stranger who had boarded a bus from Wisconsin in an attempt to see her on her birthday. Luckily, Swift was not home at the time.

According to TMZ, the case will not proceed any further because the Swift family isn’t interested in throwing the book at the young man and because her property did not have any “No Trespassing” signs on it at the time of the incident. The man’s lawyer previously argued that his client didn’t know hopping the fence was a bad idea, and considering no one was harmed, everyone involved seems content to put this issue behind them.

If Kulke comes back, however, it’s highly unlikely he will receive the benefit of the doubt again. There’s a fine line between a fan who got a bit overzealous and someone who could pose a serious risk to the singer, and any further incidents may well push him too close to the latter category.

Here’s to hoping this is the last we hear of this fence-hopping arrest.
