Nestle Recalls Containers Of Nesquik Over Salmonella Concerns

The Nesquik Bunny might typically offer a way to upgrade from standard milk, but this week, the mascot’s products are proving to be a horrible additive. Thanks to an ingredient from one of its suppliers that may have been tainted, Nestle has been forced to recall numerous containers of Nesquik because they may contain Salmonella. The company made the announcement earlier this week, leaving consumers to frantically check their boxes to figure out whether they’re in danger of being stuck in the bathroom for hours.

According to Patch, all of the recalled products have an expiration date of BEST BEFORE Oct 2014. Symptoms of Salmonella infections include abdominal cramps, fever and diarrhea. More often than not, no long-term consequences come from contracting the illness, but those affected are still being encouraged to seek medical treatment in order to be on the safe side.

Because the ingredient in question came from one of its suppliers, this whole mess likely wasn’t Nestle’s fault, but still, the company has provided a number (800-628-7679) people can call to find out more information and set up exchanges. There haven’t been any reports of sickness thus far, but that could change within the next few days.

Here’s to hoping this entire mix-up passes without any serious injuries or any serious loss of resources.
