Walking Dead: What Rosita Would Say To Abraham If She Could

Season 7 of The Walking Dead has been rough so far. After six years of seeing our group of survivors kick ass and take names, all of their power has been taken away. Negan and his massive amount of resources and soldiers run the show, and Rick and the residents of Alexandria have to fall in line or be bludgeoned to death. The premiere episode was absolutely brutal, as we watched two starring cast members savagely beaten to death. One of these characters was the ginger with the mouth of a sailor- Abraham. Shortly before he was killed, Abe broke up with with Rosita for Sasha, so his death presumably fosters complicated feelings for his ex. But now we know what Rosita would say to Abraham if she could.

Actress Christian Serratos recently spoke to the good folks at ComicBook.com regarding her character and Season 7 of The Walking Dead. When asked about what her character would like to say to Abraham, Serratos said the following:

It would probably just be a 'Thank you'. There's nothing to be done. It's not like the relationship could've been salvaged. It was what it was, and it ended when it should've ended. They learned a lot from each other, so I think it would probably be along the lines of a 'Thank you.'

I guess watching two people get their heads smashed in can give you some perspective. Despite her apparent disdain for Sasha and Abraham in Season 6, those problems seem much less important now. She appreciates all Abraham did for her during their years traveling together, and is ready for the next step in her life.

Rosita is one character who I've felt was criminally underused during her first few seasons. Aside from her relationship with Abraham and being Eugene's mother figure, there wasn't a ton for her to do. But now that Abraham has died and Christian Serratos has made it onto the opening credits, this will likely change. Rosita is now without a partner in life (besides her friends with benefits Spencer), and must find her place in the world. Will Abraham's death ignite a fire within her like Maggie? Or will she be consumed with guilt and feeling defeated by the almost insurmountable odds that Alexandria is facing against The Saviors.

Personally, I'm hoping that Rosita and Sasha's feelings toward each other is fleshed out in Season 7. All of their exchanges in Season 6 were silent, as Rosita attempted to block out the Abraham/Sasha relationship. The two women found some common ground in this season's brutal premiere, when Sasha took the remains of Abraham's body to The Hilltop. They made peace in their moment, but who knows how they really feel about each other.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays on AMC.
