Cheers' George Wendt To Guest Star On Kirstie Alley's TV Land Comedy

It looks like Kirstie Alley's TV Land comedy Kirstie is staging another TV mini-reunion. Yesterday, we learned that Jason Alexander was going to guest-star on the upcoming series, reuniting with Seinfeld's Michael Richards, who's among the stars of the show. And today comes word that Cheers' George Wendt is also set to play a guest role on the comedy, which reunites him with Rhea Perlman and Kirstie Alley, both of whom starred in Cheers as well.

Kirstie (formerly titled Giant Baby) stars Alley as Madison Banks, a Broadway star whose son (Eric Petersen) - whom she gave up for adoption when he was a baby - shows up on her doorstep to reconnect with her when his adoptive parents die. THR says Wendt will guest star as Duke Bainbridge, the ex-husband of Rhea Perlman's character Thelma (Madison's assistant and friend). He's described as a flashy professional pool player who wasn't very faithful to Thelma during their marriage.

As mentioned, Wednt - who played Norm on Cheers - joins Jason Alexander among the guest stars set to appear in TV Land's planned comedy, which is expected to start shooting later this month but has no set premiere date. Alexander will play Madison's agent in an episode. While it seems likely that Wednt and Perlman will appear on screen together, considering they're exes, there's no word on whether or not we'll see Alexander and Michael Richards - who plays Madison's driver - crossing paths. But not knowing is all the more reason to tune in when Kirstie premieres.

Wendt's recent credits include a number of TV movies and appearances in Portlandia, Harry's Law and TV Land's Hot in Cleveland.
