SNL Lines Up Christina Applegate And Bruno Mars To Host Upcoming Episodes
Saturday Night Live's 38th season got going a few weeks back, and after just two new episodes, the series has already aired its first rerun. But those hoping for a new episode will get their wish this Saturday night when Daniel Craig hosts, with Muse set to perform as the musical guest. And just to ensure that there won't be another gap between new episodes anytime soon, the NBC series has lined up its next two hosts.
NBC announced today that Christina Applegate will return to host SNL on October 13. Applegate co-stars with former SNL player Maya Rudolph in the NBC comedy Up All Night. The last time she hosted Saturday Night Live was in 1993, which was probably around the height of her Married with Children fame. Applegate's come a long way since Kelly Bundy, and a return to SNL to host seems long overdue.
The musical guest for the episode is Passion Pit. This will be the groups first appearance on SNL, and it comes following the release of their second album "Gossamer."
Following Applegate's episode, Bruno Mars will appear on October 20th, taking on the challenge of serving as both the host and musical guest on the episode. Bruno Mars was the musical guest in an episode back in 2010, but this will be the first time the musician has tried his hand at hosting, so we'll have to see how he does. And hopefully, the writers will make good use of his musical talents with a sketch or two.
