Things Get Messy In This New Clip From Dead Space Aftermath

Alternate-media tie-ins don't exactly have the best track record when it comes to quality. All the more so when it comes to games. For every example such as the Mass Effect novels, which were actually written by Drew Karpyshyn who was one of the main writers on the excellent games, there are dozens of cheap-and-easy cash-ins designed to sate die-hard fans desperate for more of their favorite fictional worlds. Which category will the upcoming animated direct-to-DVD outing Dead Space: Aftermath fall into? One thing is certain: it's going to be messy.

We had previously posted the trailer for the animated project, which you can see right here, and today we've got a new clip from the movie. It's more of mood setter, introducing us to the crew sent to investigate the fate of the USG Ishimura, the ill-fated mining vessel that served as the setting for all the carnage of the first Dead Space game. We've got mutilated bodies, we've got poorly lit corridors, and we've got heavily armed soldiers whose confidence and training will soon be undercut by the slashing talons of a thousand hungry necromorphs. If that's not a recipe for a good time, I don't know what is.

Dead Space: Aftermath hits Blu-ray and DVD January 25th, the same day as the even more anticipated game sequel Dead Space 2 arrives on Xbox 360, PS3, and Windows. Be sure to stay tuned to our Games section for all your gaming news needs.
