Warner Brothers Releasing Birds Of Prey To DVD

The short lived Birds of Prey television series is among one of the top unreleased shows on DVD. It won’t have that prestigious honor for long, however, because Warner Brothers is finally bringing the series to DVD.

Birds of Prey brought the world of Gotham City beyond the Dark Knight to television screens in 2002. With Batman gone, it’s up to the daughter of Bruce Wane and Catwoman to fight crime under the name of the Huntress (Ashley Scott). Along with Oracle (Dina Meyer), and Dinah (Rachel Skarsten), the trio take on Dr. Harleen Quinzel, better known to Batman canon fans as Harley Quinn, played by Mia Sarah.

The DVD set is scheduled for a July 29th DVD release, bringing all thirteen episodes together along with an animated series of Birds of Prey shorts in a four disc collection. That’s all that’s been announced by Warner Brothers right now, but we’ll let you know when we get more details or some cover art.

I'd love to think this is being done in response to fan demand, but the truth is this is probably coming as part of the studio's endeavor to cash in on anything Batman related for this summer's Dark Knight blitz.
