Beetlejuice, Powerpuff Girls Included In Next LEGO Dimensions Release
The cross-branded support for the LEGO Dimensions game still astounds me to this very day. The LEGO Group announced that three new Fun and Team packs will be added to the game, including a classic horror character in Beetlejuice, Teen Titans Go! and one of the most iconic Cartoon Network shows out there, The Powerpuff Girls. The figures are expected to arrive by September 12th for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Wii U.
Siliconera did a quick rundown of the three new sets for LEGO Dimensions. The toys-to-life genre may have slowed down drastically after Disney decided to step out of game, and after Activision scaled back on Skylanders, but the new packs for the Lego game are actually pretty cool.
The Powerpuff Girls set includes Bubbles, Buttercup and Blossom. There are two separate packs for the the popular superhero trio. The first pack, the Fun Pack, contains Buttercup and a Mega Blast Bot. Both of these figurines can be used in LEGO Dimensions to bring the characters into the game as 3D avatars based on the toys. The second pack contains the other two heroines, Blossom and Bubbles. They come with a Sonic Squid and a Super Skunk. Using the mini-figures on the base NFC pad for LEGO Dimensions will open up an all new world for players to explore, including Professor Utonium's lab and the Pokey Oaks Elementary School. An additional battle arena will also be unlocked as well.
Funnily enough, the three super heroines don't quite look as LEGO-ized as some other characters. They still appear to be very much mirrored after their Cartoon Network designs. I suppose it's just the nature of their design and the fact that they're so small with large heads that their proportions look closer to their cartoon form than a typical LEGO design.
Anyway, the next item on the list is Beetlejuice, from the eponymous movie and television series. The character doesn't come with a Team Pack but you can get Beetlejuice in a Fun Pack along with the infamous sandworm that has a couple of transformations in LEGO Dimensions, such as a Haunted Vacuum or a Spooky Spider. Just like with the Powerpuff Girls, the Beetlejuice figure also unlocks a new arena and a new world to explore.
The last, but certainly not least of the new Fun and Team Packs includes Teen Titans Go! This is based on the kids television cartoon. The first of the Fun Packs includes Starfire and a Titan Robot that has two different transformations in the game, including a Robot Retriever dog or a T-Rocket. The second Team Pack contains four figurines, two of which feature Raven and Beast Boy. There's also a T-Car that can turn into a Forklift or T-Plane in the game, along with Raven's magical relic the Spellbook of Azarath, which can become a giant hand or wings in the actual game. Two new maps are also added to LEGO Dimensions, including the Titan Tower and the Wacka Doodles Amusement Park.
One of the added bonuses to the Teen Titans Go!, pack is that it comes with a free episode that explains the story of how the Teen Titans went from their world and ended up in the LEGO world. That's a nice little addition to add to the lore of the world.

The game is currently out now for last-gen and current eighth gen systems. Sadly, Nintendo Switch owners are left out of the LEGO Dimensions goodness, but maybe things will change around this fall.
