The Goonies Have Arrived In LEGO Dimensions, Check Out The New Trailer
Hey, you guys! The Goonies are finally coming to LEGO Dimensions, and they're bringing a couple of friends along for the ride as the Wave 8 expansions for the toys-to-life game arrive at retail.
What's better than hearing about the new LEGO Dimensions set starring The Goonies? Getting all of the details from Excalibur Batman, of course. The Caped Crusader is here to introduce fans to the build-it-yourself game's latest band of misfits as LEGO Dimensions goes looking for pirate treasure.
The Goonies expansion arrives in LEGO Dimensions today, boasting a playable version of Sloth, as well as a rather rad pirate ship vehicle and skeleton piano interactive object. In the above trailer, Excalibur Batman gives folks an idea of what they can expect out of the latest Level Pack to hit LEGO Dimensions. Being a Level Pack, that means you're going to get to play through an abbreviated version of the entire movie, letting players journey from the infamous lighthouse to the trap-riddled cave and beyond.
As with all vehicles and objects in LEGO Dimensions, the ship and the piano can actually be rebuilt into three different forms, opening up the ways you can interact with the game world. Also, all of your other figures, vehicles, and objects will work with this pack, too, so feel free to mix and match to your heart's content.
But The Goonies aren't the only new heroes coming to LEGO Dimensions in Wave 8, as two additional Fun Packs are also part of the expansion. As a reminder, all packs unlock their own adventure world full of games and activities and new battle arenas, alongside the new toys. Only the Level Packs come with story content, though.
Fans of Harry Potter will be excited to learn that one of the smartest wizards in the world, Hermione Granger, is finally joining the Dimensions cast in Wave 8, alongside a buildable version of Buckbeak the Hippogriff. If you don't already have a Harry Potter character in your collection, then this pack will also grant you a trip to an Adventure World where Hogwarts, Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley are available for exploration.
The third and final addition to the Wave 8 set is a brand new collection of toys from LEGO City. The character is Chase McCain, and he comes with a Police Helicopter that should make reaching high places that much easier. Along with his own Battle Arena, Chase's set opens up the LEGO City Adventure World, where you can freely explore the city itself, the Polic Department and the moon base of the series' antagonist, Blackwell.
