Exodus Wars: Fractured Empire Brings Tabletop Wargame To Life
Membraine Studios is working on a turn-based, action-oriented strategy game based on the popular tabletop miniature game, Exodus Wars. The new title, appropriately named Exodus Wars: Fractured Empire, has entered into the crowd-sourced arena in hopes of getting the game finished and out to the public in a timely manner.
Mark Sheppard, producer at Membraine Studios commented in the press release, saying...
The game is about 40% complete and they have a modest goal of about $35,000. That's not too bad and that's just enough to get them game out there...or at least, that's what they're hoping. For skeptics (and I think everyone should be a skeptic of a crowd-sourced game until you see some sort of footage or get a video description from the developer) a new gameplay walkthrough video was released, which you can check out below.
I love the look and art-design. Those giant stomper-mechs look like they can deal out some massive damage. I mean, check out the arsenal on those things...I can't wait to see those Marcovian Behemoths in action. They kind of look like the Titan from MechWarrior.
Anyways, if you've enjoyed battling your friends or family in back-and-forth tabletop games using miniatures then Exodus Wars: Fractured Empire could be a game right up your alley.
Of course, you should only donate if this really is the sort of game you want to see brought to life and not just because some website and PR people told you to. The cool part about crowd-sourcing is that the control is in the hands of gamers, and those want to see these projects brought to life can rally other like-minded gamers to do so.
