Fallout 4 Cheat: How To Get Unlimited Money

If you're short on money in Fallout 4, you're in luck. Players have found a quick and easy way to earn an unlimited supply of bottlecaps.

The glitch seems to work with any vendor that sells ammunition. The video below demonstrates it with the arms dealer at Diamond City Market, which you can reach early on in the game. Here's what you need to do:

1. Buy the vendor's entire supply of one kind of ammo. The type of ammo shouldn't matter.

2. Sell back one of the rounds you just purchased.

3. Sell back all of the other rounds of that type.

4. Even though you sold every round, one will still be in your inventory. You can keep selling this lone round over and over. You can do this to get all of the vendor's caps and even all of their wares in trade.

If completely cleaning out the vendor wasn't enough for you, you can sleep for 24 hours and do the process all over again. The vendor will have replenished his supply of items and bottlecaps by then. Simple, right?

Needless to say, this sort of breaks the game. If you can buy the best gear and an unlimited supply of ammunition, battles become a whole lot easier. One of the principle challenges of the early hours is that you'll find good guns but only have, like, five bullets for them. Plus, this glitch means you no longer have to do nearly as much exploring and scavenging - which is half the fun of the game in my estimation. If you're comfortable with that trade-off, though, go right ahead and use the exploit.

The video creator says that he tested this bug on launch day with the PS4 version of Fallout 4. As he says, Bethesda will probably patch it out in a future update. You can either use the exploit as much as possible right now or just avoid downloading future updates. I wouldn't recommend the latter, though, as the game's patches are bound to come with plenty of useful fixes as well.

If you're playing Fallout 4 on PC, you won't need to use this glitch. That version of the game comes with a wide range of cheat codes that let you conjure up an infinite amount of bottlecaps and items. You can find the full list of cheats for PC here.

Fallout 4 launched this week on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Based on the early sales data, you're probably already playing it.
