Former employees of Swedish studio GRIN have banded together to form Outbreak Studios. Hope they use that monkey from the Dustin Hoffman virus movie as their mascot.
Their newly minted website doesn't mention their current projects, but does state their general goals: "Our mission is to develop titles for Xbox 360 (XBLA), PS3 (PlayStation Store), Games for Windows Live, PSP Go and iPhone. We also deliver online components for AAA titles, both existing or upcoming."
The company was founded by Peter Björklund, who is said to have "built the network engine for EA/DICE that is used in games such as Midtown Madness 3, Battlefield 2: Modern Combat and Battlefield: Bad Company. Many of the two dozen employees at Outbreak worked on recent GRIN titles such as Terminator Salvation, Bionic Commando, and Wanted: Weapons of Fate.
