Nintendo's new 3DS Kirby game, Kirby: Planet Robobot, will come with an Amiibo bundle. The game and Amiibo will release this upcoming June for the handheld. Nintendo announced the news via Twitter and included an image of the new bundle pack.
IGN managed to catch wind of the bundle and posted up the tweet, which contains the image of the Kirby Amiibo packaged in with the Nintendo 3DS game. You can check it out below.
The U.K., Nintendo account announced that the Kirby: Planet Robobot bundle would be available starting June 20th for £35. The pre-orders for the bundle have already gone live and they note that the the Amiibo figure that comes in the pack will unlock a UFO ability within the game. The Amiibo is compatible with all versions of the Nintendo 3DS.
Previously, the game was announced during the March 3rd Nintendo Direct last month. The game sees Kirby battling against the forces of evil once more, utilizing the ability to copy clones and mimic their attacks. There are up to 25 different abilities to copy, as well as brand new features for players to utilize throughout the game, such as the new mechs, which are a prominent selling point for Robobot.
What's cool is that separate from Kirby's ability to clone enemy attacks, the Robobot suits can also absorb enemy attacks and use modified versions of them during gameplay, some of these abilities can be utilized to break through walls and other obstructions, or to unleash devastating attacks against foes.
Each of these modes open up a new way to traverse and play the game, and according to the Nintendo Direct, there are more than 10 modes for the Robobot armor for players to use.
Additionally, there's a separate multiplayer mode available that allows four players to work together to battle bosses. The cooperative mode sees each player taking on a role as they fight and help their teammates work toward victory. The co-op mode works on a class-based system with each player earning experience points to grow their roles.
While Kirby: Planet Robobot is set to release this June with its own included Amiibo, the game will also support the use of other Amiibos as well, with different character statues giving Kirby varying special abilities he can utilize within the game. For instance, the Mario Amiibo will grant Kirby the option to utilize fire powers. Additionally, the Link Amiibo will allow Kirby to utilize Link's Master Sword during combat.
There will be three additional Amiibo released on June 10th as well, specifically made for Kirby: Planet Robobot. Each one will offer players a unique copy ability and a special costume. They don't say if the special new Amiibo will work in other games, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do.
