Before you pre-order Portal 2, it would be prudent to check the system requirements just released by Valve. Only the strongest of computers will be compatible with Aperture Science's latest technology.
The specs come directly from the game's product page on Steam. They've got both the PC and Mac requirements up. If you purchase the game for the PC, you'll be able to download and play it on your Mac as well (and vice versa).
PC System Requirements
