This summer is definitely no lack-luster for grade-A interactive entertainment. Among the summer releases there’s one game that really strikes the fancy of gamers, and I happen to be one of those gamers. That game happens to be Quake Wars, and there’s some amazing new footage of what this next-gen, squad-based Quake game features.

Quake Wars: Enemy Territory is almost like a pseudo-sequel to the uber-popular online multiplayer shooter, Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. I almost sense a similarity with the names. But unlike other class-based, squad-shooters, Quake Wars is ALL about the action. As you’ll see in the trailer below, this game ROCKS HARD! It’s terribly fascinating to watch and should be a blast to play.

The only thing that has my curiosity irked is how much of what we’re looking at in the following trailer will make it into the final console renditions. There’s tons of action happening all at once, and we all know how much memory vehicles (especially flying ones) take up for console games. So it’ll be interesting to see how the multiplayer components come together for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Enjoy the trailer below.
