Open-world zombie game State of Decay will be arriving this week. Undead Labs abruptly announced today that their inaugural title will be launching on Xbox Live Arcade on Wednesday, June 5th.
"Yep, it’s official," said the studio on their website. They also provided a new poster emblazoned with the release date.
In State of Decay, the world has been devastated by a zombie outbreak. Players will have to team up with NPC survivors to survive. They'll create a home base and then explore nearby areas to replenish their supplies. Should they encounter any zombies, they'll have to take them out by any means necessary.
State of Decay, unlike DayZ, is a single-player-only title. Still, it seems to have a lot of depth. Players will be able to customize and develop their characters as the game proceeds. The game world is said to evolve in real-time depending on their actions.
Undead Labs is also developing a PC version. However, no date for that platform was provided. It seems the game will be an XBLA exclusive for a little while.
