THQ has signed on to publish the next game from Turtle Rock Studios. The unnamed project will be released in 2013.

"We’re thrilled to be working with THQ,” said Phil Robb, COO, Turtle Rock Studios. "This project is the most ambitious thing we’ve ever attempted, and we’re inspired by the support THQ has shown to help us realize that vision. We’re going to take the first person shooter experience to a whole new level, and we can’t wait to show the game for the first time in the months ahead."

Turtle Rock was the original developer behind Left 4 Dead. The studio worked on the game from 2006 until 2008, when Valve took over the project. Turtle Rock was acquired by Valve and operated briefly as Valve South. They then reformed as an independent studio in 2010.

The new game will not be shown off at this year's E3. THQ promises that a "full reveal" will take place at a later date, though.
