The Witcher 3 Is Coming To PS4

Hunting monsters is getting bigger and badder than ever as CD Projekt RED announces that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be launching on the PlayStation 4 when the game is released in 2014.

Sony revealed loads of information regarding their upcoming home console last night, including a long list of third party developers who were said to be working on games for the new system. CD Projeckt RED was on that list.

In The Witcher 3, players will explore a vast, open RPG world filled with loads of optional missions and dozens of deadly creatures to hunt. A brand-new fighting engine that should make all of that questing even more enjoyable. CD Projekt previously stated that the game world would be "less generic" than that of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

The game's main storyline will close the book on series protagonist Geralt of Rivia. However, according to the folks making the game, the self-contained story means that new players to the series should be able to get as much fun out of the game as seasoned vets.

“We were thrilled when asked, several months ago, to be one of the developers who were granted early access to the PlayStation 4,” said Rojekt RED head Adam Badowski. “Of course, we couldn't reveal any specifics about this to our fans, even though many journalists and forum members asked about when and how The Witcher might show up on Sony's console. After yesterday's PlayStation meeting, we can finally promise: The Witcher 3 is coming to PlayStation 4.”
