500 Days Of Summer Trio Reteams

Our intrepid Sundance correspondents caught 500 Days of Summer and loved, with Josh calling it "without question one of the best films to grace Sundance." Now the people who created it, director Marc Webb and writers Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, will be reuniting for another project, and maybe capturing some of the magic that made their first film so great.

Webb will direct and Neustadter and Weber will adapt The Spectacular Now, based on a book by Tim Tharp that's described as "somewhere between Sideways, Catcher in the Rye and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. " uh, if you say so. Variety notes that the book was a National Book Award finalist as well. Fox Searchlight is producing the movie, and shepherded 500 Days of Summer as well. Can't blame them for wanting to stick with a good thing. The rest of us will get our chance to catch 500 Days this summer, when it's released on July 24.
