New Amazing Spider-Man 2 Set Photo Features An Ominous Locker

It's not easy making a superhero movie. Not only do you have to deal with all of the stresses that come with making any feature film, all of the pressure is heightened because you're playing around with hundreds of millions of dollars. So it's interesting that director Marc Webb has added another daily task to what is surely an already hefty workload: Tweeting a picture a day from the set of The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

The Spidey sequel is currently in production in New York and thus far the director has sent on two images from the set, including this one of his camera operator and this one with some kind of strange Oscorp gadget. With the third image, however, things are getting slightly ominous. Webb sent out the following picture with the message "Day 3. #happybirthday"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that looks a great deal like a morgue drawer, no? And even if it's not and it's just a storage locker it's still kind of a creepy image. Superhero Hype notes that the shot actually bears a resemblance to a certain storage facility in the Ultimate Spider-Man comics - namely one that contains the Symbiote that eventually becomes Venom. Here is the panel from that comic for comparison:

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Dane DeHaan, Shailene Woodley, and Sally Field and will be in theaters on May 2, 2014. Learn more about it in our Blend Film Database.
