Bruce Banner Works And Black Widow Glares In New Avengers Images

This week is an important one for the movie world. The Hunger Games, one of the most hotly anticipated films of 2012, is finally ready to hit theaters this Friday. But while most years will only have one or two major blockbusters that everyone in the world is excited to see, this year is filled with them. By the time New Years rolls around we will have watched the next James Bond adventure in Skyfall, the Batman finale The Dark Knight Rises, the return of the webhead in The Amazing Spider-Man, a trip back to Middle Earth in The Hobbit and a new venture into scream-less outer-space in Prometheus. But while we'll have to wait a few months for most of those titles, the next big one is coming in May, The Avengers, and today we get yet another look at that project.

Comic Book Movie has gotten its hands on a full gallery of new stills from the Joss Whedon-directed film, which is due out on May 4th. Check some of them out below - including new looks at Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) - and head over to the source for the rest.

Bringing together elements from Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers brings together some of the greatest heroes from the Marvel universe and teams them together to fight against a force of evil that threatens to destroy the entire world. The film also stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Clark Gregg and Cobie Smulders.
