Cast Set For Election-Themed Romantic Comedy

Given the racial politics that cropped up during the 2008 election, it's pretty easy to imagine flipping things around to make a romantic comedy out of it. A male Hillary Clinton volunteer falls for a female Obama supporter, or a black guy in the McCain office starts wooing a white Obama volunteer. Luckily real life isn't quite so contrived, and as the upcoming romantic comedy Politics of Love is based on a true story, it'll be a little less contrived as well.

THR reports that Brian White will fill in the lead role as a black McCain volunteer coordinator, who falls for an Indian-American Obama volunteer, played by Mallika Sherawat. See, it's different because she's not white! William Dear, who directed kitschy classics like Harry and the Hendersons and Angels in the Outfield, will be in charge on this one as well.
