Dane Cook Wants To Ruin Batman 3 As Riddler

I think we should all take a moment to be thankful that Christopher Nolan is the director of the Batman franchise. Sure, we don’t know if he’s going to do a third one yet but chances are after he gets Inception out of his system, he’ll be back on board. He knows acting better than we do. He can see potential in people who have yet to meet it. Just look what he did with Heath Ledger. More importantly, he’s not the type of guy who would hire Dane Cook as the Riddler.

That’s an important trait to have because it turns out that Cook is interested in the role. Talking to MTV, Cook said, “I love the new Dark Knight series and Batman Begins.” He continued, "If they brought back The Riddler—a new Riddler the way they did with The Joker—that would be bad-ass. I would do that." When asked about what kind of Riddler he would be, he stated that he thought he could do something like The Crow but “still comedic.”

Dane is merely talking about a dream role that he will never even be considered for, but I can’t help but worry about the worst-case scenario for the Batman franchise. What if Nolan doesn’t come back? What if someone like Brett Ratner picks up the series where it left off? What if he thinks it would be a totally rad idea to have Cook involved? Well then, I guess Riddler will be the kind of dude that says “bad-ass.”
