Jackman Wants More Wolverine

Everyone makes a big deal about Robert Downey Jr.’s awesome portrayal of Tony Stark in Iron Man, mostly because the man is a serious actor who has dedicated himself to playing a comic book character. Downey isn’t alone in that category though. Sure, Hugh Jackman was largely unknown when the X-Men franchise started out, but he’s grown into a pretty serious thespian by now, and yet he still takes his comic book portrayal seriously.

MTV’s Splashpage got to talk to Jackman during his press for Australia and the actor was happy to field some questions about next year’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In fact, Jackman’s enthusiasm about the character is readily apparent, down to not being ready to give up the character.

When asked where the X-Men franchise would go after his movie, Jackman made it very clear that he isn’t done with the character yet. As long as the fans want more movies, he wants to do more movies, although he’ll be the first to walk away when the fans are done with it. So what would Jackman like to see next for the X-Men? Another Wolverine picture, featuring the character’s Japanese story arc - a fan favorite if I ever heard one.

Take a look at MTV’s interview with Jackman and see just how enthusiastic he is about Wolverine and wanting to do another picture below. As for his concerns about fans not wanting more - I never expect that day to come. Wolverine has always been a fan-favorite character, and Jackman has been perfect in the role from day one.
