The T. Rex doesn’t come into play until the end of Jurassic World, though we see glimpses of her briefly in the beginning of the move as it devours a small goat off camera. When all seems lost and the Indominus rex has laid waste to just about every creature and defense force imaginable, including Chris Pratt’s team of raptors, Bryce Dallas Howard’s character, Claire Dearing, unleashes the big guns. She leads the monstrous Tyrannosaurus rex with red flares to the park’s main area for a showdown of epic proportions. It’s obvious who emerged as the victor.
Director Colin Trevorrow said it was important for him to include various Easter eggs to the original films, and one of them was the look of the T. rex. She’s the same dinosaur that ravaged the park in the first film, and you can tell by the scratches and scars she still wears on her skin. One of the more obscure Easter Eggs, however, can be spotted as T. rex is crashing through the display of dinosaur bones. While it’s a reference to her finale entrance in the first Jurassic Park, Trevorrow has also pointed out that the bones are a nod to Jurassic Park III. The was the monstrous antagonist of that film, and here is where it’s bones lie. As Trevorrow said, it’s far worse to crush its skeletal than to merely kill it off.
Jurassic World features ChrisPratt, Howard, Nick Robinson, Ty Simpkins, Judy Greer, Vincent D’Onofrio, Omar Sy, B.D. Wong, Jake Johnson and Irrfan Khan, and is set years after the events of the original film, with the park reopened and fully functional. Thousands of people flock to Jurassic World each day, and every major new attraction sees a surge in ticket sales. So it was the decision of the corporate heads that the first genetically modified hybrid dinosaur be created. Enter the Indominus rex. Though Owen, a raptor researcher who came to befriend the vicious animals, is called in to analysis the creature, it proves uncontrollable. It breaks out of its cage using various abilities it acquired from the DNA strands used to create it, and begins attacking the park.
The film is doing so well in theaters that a sequel seems all but guaranteed. Pratt said he’s already signed on for multiple films, and though Universal hasn’t announced more just yet, we should expect some news on this front soon.
