Kinsey Director's Next Project

Bill Condon has always been a solid writer, with great stuff like Gods and Monsters and Chicago on his screenwriting resume. But this year he leaped from the fringes of my radar to dead center by both writing and directing one of the best, most daring films of the year, Kinsey.

Well, he’s announced his next project, and it’s not a musical or a movie about Dr. Ruth. Variety is reporting that Condon will direct and write a theatrical adaptation of Dreamgirls. Dreamgirls is the thinly fictionalized account of Diana Ross and the Supremes rise to stardom in the white-dominated music world of the 60’s.

Production begins on the DreamWorks backed film some time this summer.
