Any Blu-ray/DVD collector knows that one of the best special features that comes on a good number of discs is the director's commentary. Even if you're listening to the commentary on what you think is a bad movie, it's still interesting to know what was going through the filmmaker's head and how they came to certain decisions. Because this feature is limited to home releases, however, film fans often have to wait for months after theatrical release to listen to a spoiler-filled discussion where a director can get into the nitty-gritty of their work. Well, Iron Man 3 appears to be an exception.
Empire has posted what they are calling the "Iron Man 3 Spoiler Podcast Special," which features a 25-minute conversation with co-writer/director Shane Black and co-writer Drew Pearce talking about the new Marvel movie at length. If you haven't seen the movie yet, you should definitely stay far, far away from the podcast, as they talk at length about one of the film's biggest surprises. The podcast is a full hour and nine minutes long - all of it filled with Iron Man 3 spoilers - but if you wish to jump to where Black and Pearce come in skip ahead to around 45:37.
And if that isn't enough of a fix for you, be sure to listen to the most recent edition of the Operation Kino Podcast. If you don't want to just listen to a conversation about Iron Man 3 and actually want to participate in one, head on over HERE, where you can give the movie a star rating and hit the comments for all different kinds of discussions.
Iron Man 3 hit theaters at midnight last night and is now in theaters nationwide.
