Critical acclaim and Oscar buzz are nice, but it's about time Scarlett Johansson got paid. So she's joined the cast of Mission Impossible 3 where she will no doubt be brilliant and beautiful no matter how much the movie might suck.
Her exact role is unknown, but she is apparently supposed to be one of the "good" guys. Hopefully that doesn't translate into her being Tom Cruise's love interest... because honestly, doesn't that seem totally sick and wrong? I'm not sure I could stand to see sweet Scarlett locking lips with old man Cruise. Besides, how can I possibly compete with him?
Johansson joins an already well filled out cast sporting names like Ving Rhames, Carrie-Ann Moss, and Kenneth Branagh, all of whom will have to stand in a ditch when doing scenes with Tom Cruise. MI: 3 starts filming some time this summer and should appear in theaters at a time when it is likely to make the most money.
