Mr. Eko May Take His Jesus Stick To Black Panther

It seems Marvel is still intent on making a movie out of Black Panther. In case you’ve forgotten Black Panther was one of the first black superheroes and, let’s face it, he’s pretty much well known only for that. He was the chief of an African tribe called the Panthers and he uses an herb which gives him enhanced agility, strength, and perception.

So it seems the movie’s still happening and MTV has a line on at least one of the actors being considered for this latest attempt at getting it done. His name is Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, but you probably know him best as Mr. Eko, the priestly former drug dealer with the big ass Jesus stick on Lost.

According to Mr. Eko, he’s talking to Marvel about the part. It’s still early though. He says, “This is the first round, so you know, hopefully they'll look at 'G.I. Joe' and see the potential. But it's about time we have a black superhero, isn't it?” I guess he didn’t see any of the Blade movies. Actually it’s about time we had a Puerto Rican superhero. When are they getting their turn? No, Johnny Depp in The Rum Diary does not count.
