Owen Wilson Says Zoolander 2 Will Feature A Disfigured Hansel

At this point in the game, the only thing preventing Zoolander 2 from going into production is the fact that it hasn't gone into production yet. The movie's script was completed back in January and various members of the cast have said that they would be interested in returning. The only hold up is the studio behind the film, Paramount Pictures, which is odd considering the film's cult status. But while we wait to see if the project ever manages to come together, we'll simply have to make do with small little details that the actors reveal.

MTV recently sat down with Owen Wilson, who is currently promoting his newest film, The Big Year, and the subject of Zoolander 2 came up. The movie is set over a decade after the events of the original, but apparently the time has not been good to Wilson's character, Hansel. While the actor didn't disclose exactly what happened, apparently the male model who was so hot back in 2001 suffered a "disfiguring injury" that has left him looking not so pretty. Just how bad of an injury are we talking? Wilson says that his look looks comes straight out of Cameron Crowe's Vanilla Sky. Yikes.

Even though decade-later sequels rarely turn out all that great, I'm really hoping that this project can come together. The characters in the 2001 film were so rich and hilarious that you could put them in any situation and still have it be funny. Cross your fingers and hope that Paramount gives this one the green light sooner than later.
