There are inevitably going to be people who compare the upcoming Inkheart to the Harry Potter series, given that it's based on a fantasy book, stars a plucky kid, and features all variety of strange creatures. But apparently they don't mind the comparison-- the Harry Potter fansite Snitch Seeker scored exclusive interviews with much of the cast and crew, and they revealed that a sequel is planned provided the movie does well.

The two sequels to the first book, Inkspell and Inkdeath, have apparently already been turned into screenplays, and are just sitting in waiting to find out if audiences will have any interest in them. I've seen Inkheart, but I'll figure I'll save my judgment about a sequel until its fans have seen it, and maybe even turn it into the next Harry Potter juggernaut. Unlikely, but hey, fantasy fans have to get their fix somewhere.
