Slumdog Wins The PGA's Top Prize

Slumdog Millionaire continued its unstoppable run through the awards season yesterday, winning the top prize from the PRoducers Guild of America. The nominees at the PGA matched Oscar's except for one, with The Dark Knight getting a nomination here where The Reader popped up at the Oscars. Regardless, Slumdog was widely expected to win here, and remains the frontrunner by far going into the Academy Awards.

Variety reports on the rest of the night's winners too, which included 30 Rock, Mad Men and John Adams in the television categories and Man on Wire for documentaries. Wall-E, the sadly ignored Best Picture contender, also won in the animated category. So basically, everyone who was expected to win at the PGAs did, and despite the surprises of last Thursday's nominations, this year's winners still appear to be set in stone.
