While Spike Jonze has kept himself busy over the last few years, continuing to direct shorts and produce other projects, it's been far too long since he last helmed a feature of his own. While he's never been anywhere near the term "prolific" when it comes to full-length films, it's been three years since he made Where The Wild Things Are. Lucky for us the Jonze Drought is coming to an end. The director recently completed work on his latest project, a movie with an all-star cast that includes Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, Olivia Wilde, Amy Adams, and Samantha Morton, but up until know all we've known about the story is that it involves a man who falls in love with a computer. Lucky for us, a full synopsis is now online that gives us a much clearer picture of what the film is about.

Annapurna Pictures (via The Playlist) has posted the official plot description, which gives us a much better sense of what the movie is about. Check it out below:

In the not so distant future, Theodore (Joaquin Phoenix), a lonely writer purchases a newly developed operating system designed to meet the user’s every needs. To Theodore’s surprise, a romantic relationship develops between him and his operating system. This unconventional love story blends science fiction and romance in a sweet tale that explores the nature of love and the ways that technology isolates and connects us all.

While the production company's website doesn't have a title for the movie - it's simply known as The Untitled Spike Jonze Project - The Film Stage claims that they have heard from sources that the film will be called simply Her. It's strange that the name isn't shown on the website, but it may just be in need of another update (or they aren't sure that Her is what they will end up going with).

The Untitled Spike Jonze Project doesn't have a release date at this time, but stay tuned here on Cinema Blend for all the newest updates.
