From earlier: That Hashtag Show revealed the photos, which they say were given to them by an anonymous source, in a YouTube video. As the voiceover notes, this confirms that one piece of art that hit the web a while back claiming to be of the character’s new look. If you were hoping to see Leia’s famous hairstyle make a return appearance, you’ll probably be disappointed. To be fair, Fisher already put the nail in that coffin back during the big Force Awakens panel during Star Wars Celebration. While on stage with Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) and Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), she said Abrams and co. were doing something different with her hair that she thought the fans would enjoy.

Leia’s full involvement in the plot of The Force Awakens is still a mystery, much like the general plot altogether. However, we do know one little detail. As revealed during Celebration, Princess Leia is still Princess Leia, and she’s the one who sends Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) on his mission that will entangle him in the lives of Finn (John Boyega), the on-the-run Stormtrooper, and Rey (Daisy Ridley), a scavenger from the desert planet Jakku. Given her militaristic garb, it’s safe to say she’s one of the higher-ups of the Rebel forces.

Aside from Leia and the principal trio of characters, we’ve been able to see first looks at the returning Chewie and Han, as well as Gwendoline Christie’s Captain Phasma, Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren, and Andy Serkis and Lupita Nyong’o performing motion capture for their respective roles as Supreme Leader Snoke and the pirate Maz Kanata. There’s still a lot we haven’t seen, like our first look at Hamill’s return as Luke or who newcomers like Dohmnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Pip Andersen and Iko Uwais are playing. With now two trailers that continue to circulate the web, as well as photos from Annie Leibovitz’s Vanity Fair spread, fans are foaming at the mouth for even the slightest piece of intel. Some have speculated that the plot will see Finn, Rey and Poe Dameron embarking on a quest to find Jedi Master Skywalker, but knowing Abrams like we all do, he always has some curveball to throw.
