Tony to Time Travel

Tony Scott has decided to try his hand at a time travel movie. His newest project titled Déjà Vu will center around the story of a federal agent who travels back in time to fall in love with...er...I mean protect a woman who will be murdered. No word yet on whether a strait jacket or De Lorean will be the time machine of choice.

As questionable as this project may sound, Tony Scott at least has the good sense to bring along a couple of Hollywood security blankets. He's teaming back up with some of the guys who helped him make Crimson Tide a success. Denzel Washington will be playing the time hopping copper (this is his third movie with Scott) and Jerry Bruckheimer (who has now officially changed his name to "The Producer of Pirates of the Caribbean") is producing.

If you're like me, you're scratching your head and wondering if we really need another time travel movie, much less another one about a cop. Is there a secret society of physics nerds out there funding these projects to ensure a fresh stock of movies to pick apart and point out all the scientific inconsistensies? Maybe this is all reaction to the recent revival of Doctor Who. Whatever the reasons, expect to see Déjà Vu drop into theatres sometime next year.
