Watch Henry Cavill Prank The Suicide Squad Cast At Comic-Con
Warning: this article contains spoilers for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice
Comic-Con is a time for fans to convene and share their mutual love for all things film, television, and comic book related. However, plenty of celebrities like to get in on the action as well. In the exhibition hall at Comic-Con, even the biggest names in the comic book genre can be found rubbing elbows with the average superhero fan. Superman himself, Henry Cavill, went undercover at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, and even managed to surprise the Suicide Squad cast. Check out the video below to see for yourself.
Henry Cavill posted the above video to his Facebook after attending San Diego Comic-Con this weekend. The clip chronicles his journey through the exhibition hall of the San Diego Convention Center -- conveniently disguised under a Guy Fawkes mask to elude detection. He went around taking photos with people who had absolutely no idea who he was, and even browsed some comic book exhibits without anyone realizing that Superman had entered the building. Eventually he made his way to the Suicide Squad booth where the stars of the upcoming movie had begun giving out autographs, and Cavill pulled the mask off to surprise a clearly baffled Will Smith. He then moves down the line and greets the present cast members, from Viola Davis to Scott Eastwood.
Despite the fact the Superman has become one of the more dour and somber aspects of the DCEU, Henry Cavill has continuously proven himself worthy to wear the red and blue. Even in the face of lukewarm reviews and certain levels of fan backlash, he has kept a smile on his face and consistently shown that he really loves his place as a member of this universe. Seriously, go back and watch the "Sad Affleck" interview from a few months ago; Cavill gives his all and keeps a smile on his face even when being asked about how fans didn't enjoy Batman V Superman.
It's a good thing that he enjoys his part in the DCEU, because we have a distinct feeling that he will play a major role in this universe for years to come. Although Superman sacrificed his life to defeat Doomsday in Dawn of Justice, the final moments of the recent DC movie made it abundantly clear that the character will in fact return by the time Justice League premieres next year. The promotional material released for the upcoming team-up movie even showed that Superman gets to smile, so the experience of dying will likely lighten up the character's somewhat dour disposition from previous movies.
We will keep you up to date with any and all relevant details related to the DCEU as more information becomes available to us. Suicide Squad will debut in theaters on August 5, and Henry Cavill will presumably return to the DCEU as Superman when Justice League hits theaters on November 17, 2017.
