By now most of us have probably seen the new Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer and have developed our own opinions on it. It doesn't hurt to hear someone else's thoughts on the first of many spin-offs, and who better to listen to than Empire history buff Kylo Ren? Some genius has made a video about Kylo Ren doing a YouTube reaction video to Rogue One and it's pretty great. Check it out below.
This video comes from the YouTube channel Auralnauts, who have a bevy of funny videos about Star Wars and other properties (his Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice dream sequence explanation is worthy of a watch). The above video features Kylo Ren commenting on the new Rogue One trailer in the style of a reaction video. The voice actor does a great impression of Ren, easily slipping into his slow and controlled way of speaking. He's able to do the voice while also nailing a bunch of comedic beats.
Of course, Kylo Ren is a little biased and is rooting for the Empire to wipe out the Rebel scum. His definition of power as mostly being "lots of sharp angles, spheres, and windows" fits in pretty well with the Empire aesthetic. One great highlight in the video is Kylo trying to figure out if Jyn Erso (played by Felicity Jones) is a Bothan or not. This is based on a real question fans have continually asked director Gareth Edwards. But many Bothans died bringing the plans for the second Death Star - not the first.
Another notable moment is Kylo Ren reacting to seeing his grandfather and personal idol Darth Vader at the end stinger, and trying to figure out if he's played by Hayden Christensen again. Then he becomes internet rage personified when he starts to attack everything around him, before claiming he can't wait to see the movie. Fingers crossed that Auralnauts does these for future Star Wars movies too.
Rogue One follows Jyn Erso, who is charged by the Rebel Alliance to find and steal the plans to the Empire's secret new superweapon, the Death Star. Putting together a team of Rebels and mercenaries, Erso will have to go up against impossible odds for a mission that could change the fate of the galaxy. Oh, and Darth Vader's in it too. The film is directed by Gareth Edwards with a script penned by Chris Weitz and Tony Gilroy. Rogue One stars Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn, Mads Mikkelsen, Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Riz Ahmed, and Alan Tudyk.
What was your favorite part of the video? Mine had to be when Kylo Ren said he would finish what they started. Let us know in the comments section below.
