Warning: spoilers ahead for Rogue One. Don't read any further if you haven't seen the latest Star Wars adventure!

Gareth Edwards has done something truly special with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Although the latest installment in the Star Wars franchise serves as a direct prequel to the original adventure in a galaxy far, far away, it's a shockingly self-contained film. This appears to be by design, as Edwards himself intentionally downplayed the number of homages he chose to include in the latest Star Wars film. Ultimately, the gambit seems to have worked, as Rogue One certainly stands on its own as one of the best Star Wars films of all time.

However, although Gareth Edwards admittedly cut back on the number of Easter eggs that he chose to include in Rogue One, the film still has plenty of awesome winks, nods, and references for fans of the franchise. We've compiled a list of the 11 Star Wars Easter eggs in Rogue One that really got our geek pulses racing. Without further ado, let's get the ball rolling with one of the most iconic dairy products in the history of the Star Wars franchise.

Luke Skywalker Blue Milk Star Wars

Blue Milk

If there is one food item in the entire Star Wars universe that has become utterly iconic since the days of A New Hope, then it has to be the blue milk, which is obtained by milking banthas. Gross, right? Although it pops in and out of the frame incredibly quickly during a scene at the Erso's abode, it's still there -- and it looks as gross as ever. It's a small detail, but it creates an amazing sense of cohesion within this universe.

Star Wars Cantina

Cornelius Evazan & Ponda Baba

Those two names might not sound familiar to you, but if you've seen A New Hope you will definitely remember their grotesque faces. For those of you who don't remember, Ponda Baba is the thug in the Mos Eisley Cantina who didn't like Luke Skywalker, and Cornelius Evazan is the other thug who made sure Luke knew it. Although their appearance in A New Hope ended with some serious bodily dismemberment, Rogue One showcased them on Jedha, seemingly only a few days before they made their way to Tatooine for that fateful encounter.
