The Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 Scene Marvel Showed That Won't Be In The Movie

Usually when you watch a preview for an upcoming movie, most of the scenes being shown will be seen in the final version shown in theaters. The key word there being most, because occasionally, some of those moments don't make the cut. (Just ask Suicide Squad.) Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be one of those movies, because director James Gunn has revealed that the trailer teaser released earlier this week, which saw Drax the Destroyer obnoxiously eating, won't be shown in the highly-anticipated sequel.

Last night Marvel fans were treated to a new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer, and while commending James Gunn on the new preview on Twitter, one fan brought up how "awful" having to watch Drax eat in that teaser was. Here's how Gunn responded:

So if you were grossed out watching 15 seconds of Drax obliviously slurping and chewing way too loudly to the chagrin of his teammates, not to worry. Even though it made for an amusing teaser for the now-released final theatrical trailer, you won't have to relive it when you're seated in the theater come this May. If, on the other hand, you did enjoy that moment, you can re-watch it below. Also keep in mind that this moment could still be added as a deleted scene on the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 home media release.

Thankfully, like its 2014 predecessor, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be packed with a lot of humor, especially revolving around Drax. From what's been show to the public so far, he'll still be a source for laughs, be it from his inability to understand metaphors or his general social ineptitude, though at least the latter won't include bad dinner manners in the final cut. Of course, since he's still known as The Destroyer, Drax will also get plenty of chances to shine on the action front, like when's he's jumping at that giant, inter-dimensional monster known as the Abilisk.

Set a couple months after Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will follow the team of intergalactic defenders as they get the hang of being a family while dealing with Ayesha, the Golden High Priestess of the Sovereign people; Taserface, the leader of a group of rogue Ravagers; and Ego, Peter Quill's mysterious father. The team will also expand their ranks to include Nebula, Yondu and newcomer Mantis. Following this adventure, the heroes will return the following year for Avengers: Infinity War.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 blasts into theaters on May 5.
