Kirsten Dunst Accidentally Got Super High On The Set Of Her New Movie

Kirsten Dunst Spider-Man Mary Jane

Although drug use is a relatively common sight in movies, Hollywood has found ways to cheat the illicit activity and convincingly fake it over the years. However, it turns out that this wasn't the case on the set of Kirsten Dunst's new movie, Woodshock, as the former Spider-Man actress accidentally smoked real weed and apparently got insanely high on the set when some pot made its way into a fake joint. The actress recently made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live and explained:

We were doing this one scene where, obviously in the movie I don't smoke that many, but when you're doing takes you're doing one after the next after the next and I wasn't eating that much at the time and so I, after we were done with the scene I went back to this little bedroom to rest and I started to feel like I was losing my mind. I went to the bathroom. I'm pacing. I'm like, 'Laura,' to the director, 'There's something wrong with me. I think I need to go to the hospital. Like there's something seriously up. I feel like I'm losing my mind.' I'm shaking. I'm hot. I'm just flipping out. So one of the producers comes in, and they're like 'how do you feel?' I was like 'I feel terrible. I don't know what's wrong with me.' He goes back. He looks at all of the, you know, everything that I smoked to make sure everything's ok. He came back. He was like, 'oh you smoked a full blunt on one of the takes.'

So apparently that's what happens when you have Humboldt, California locals roll Humboldt weed on a film set. Some real marijuana got into the mix, and Kirsten Dunst accidentally got very, very high. As a result of her unwitting intoxication, production actually had to end for the day so she could go home, sleep it off, and eat peanut butter sandwiches. I guess that adds an entirely new layer to her role as Mary Jane in the Spider-Man movies, doesn't it?

Of course, Kirsten Dunst's confession isn't completely shocking, as Woodshock is far from the first movie in which someone actually did drugs while on-set. Just to name a couple of examples, the cast of Sam Raimi's original Evil Dead smoked during the sequence in which they play the recording that unleashed The Necronomicon, and the cast of Dennis Hopper's Easy Rider famously did drugs during the production of the 1969 classic. That said, Kirsten Dunst's situation seems especially notable because it happened entirely by accident; by her own confession, she doesn't smoke "full joints." At least she walked away from this incident with a funny story, right?
