Check Out Chris Hemsworth And His Adorable Kid On The Thor: Ragnarok Set

Chris Hemsworth has played Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a long time. His first solo movie came out all the way back in 2011, and since then he's filmed a slew of other movies for Marvel, including the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War and its subsequent sequel, which aren't even out yet. Thor is a mainstay in the universe right now, and this week he shared an adorable image of himself in costume as Thor along with one of his three kids. He captioned the photo with the lovely line, "Passing the torch." Check it out.

Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky are the parents of three lovely kids, a girl, India Rose, and twin brothers Tristan and Sasha. It's unclear which of the little tykes is in the photo, but what is clear is that the two are spending some time together on the set of Thor: Ragnarok. Hemsworth literally tagged the pic #thorragnarok, and even if he hadn't we already know---and minor spoiler but honestly this is in all the trailers--that Thor's hair gets cut during the events of Taika Waititi's film.

If he were dressed up for Avengers: Infinity War or the fourth and still currently untitled Avengers flick, he'd doubtless look a little different, but talking about that does actually require some big spoilers, so consider this your forewarning. In Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is fighting Hela when he gets dumped onto Sakaar, a place for all kinds of lost objects and people. He eventually meets the Grandmaster and is taken to a huge gladiator-like fighting ring. What does this have to do with his hair? Well, it's there the hair gets cut. This isn't the only big appearance change in the latest Thor-oriented movie. While Thor is fighting Hela later in the film, she gleefully rips out his eye, so that he looks more like his father, Odin, who had forsaken her. Pretty heavy stuff, that. Basically, he's going to look very different in Avengers: Infinity War.

The Twitter image is a cute one, but it's also a telling one. As noted prior, Thor has been around since 2011, and Chris Hemsworth's contract with Marvel is close to running out. Plus, he's stated in the past that he got kind of bored with playing Thor before the opportunity to do Ragnarok sprung up. Eventually, Marvel may need to go in a new direction with the character, and that would mean passing the torch. It might be a little too early at that point to give the gig to one of Hemsworth's cute kids, but thanks to Thor being female in a line of Marvel comics these days, any casting is really possible. In fact, on of CinemaBlend's finest even suggested the gig should go to Tessa Thompson (who plays Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok) during Phase 4.

We'll let you know if and when Chris Hemsworth is officially done with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For now, enjoy his awesome family photos, and be sure to see Thor: Ragnarok in theaters now. To take a look about what else we know about the movie, check out our full guide.
