Anthony Mackie Has Enough Time On The Avengers 4 Set To Light A Huge Stogie

It's an exciting time to be a Marvel fan. Because following Ryan Coogler's highly anticipated Black Panther, the first of the Russo Brothers' Avengers films will hit theaters with Infinity War. Then the untitled Avengers 4 film will wrap up Phase Three, presumably changing the shared universe as we know it. Details about both Avengers movies are pretty slim, with not even the actors aware of how it'll end. Actor Anthony Mackie has always been vocal about his excitement over playing Falcon in the MCU, and he recently posted a photo from the set of Avengers 4. While it's no doubt a busy set, he seemed to have a big enough break to light up a big cigar and lounge in his official set chair. Check it out.

Can this guy be any cooler? As if being a bonafide superhero starring in one of the biggest movies ever wasn't enough, he does it all in style. 2 points for Falcon.

While this awesome photo from Anthony Mackie's Twitter doesn't actually give us any information about the contents of Phase Four's final installment, it may hint at a plot detail for Infinity War, which will arrive in just a few months. Since Mackie is on set filming the fourth Avengers movie, we can assume that Falcon will make it out of Infinity War alive. With the stakes so high and contracts coming to an end, fans are expecting a fair amount of character deaths. Luckily it appears that Sam Wilson will be able to appear in both of The Russo Brothers' impending films.

It certainly looks like Falcon will be getting involved in the action, despite currently being fugitives of the law alongside Captain America and his team. The first trailer recently hit, and it features Falcon flying guns-a-blazing into the battle in Wakanda. He's never been afraid to get his hands dirty in movies like Civil War and Ant-Man, so he'll likely be in plenty of dangerous situations with nothing but his skills and equipment to protect him from harm.

In fact, some Marvel fans are theorizing that Anthony Mackie's character may become more important in the mysterious Phase Four of the MCU. With Chris Evans' contract up, we're expecting him to likely retire from the role in the next two movies. That would leave the opening for a new Captain America, with Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) the most likely characters for a replacement.

Alas, we'll likely have to wait until Phase Three officially concludes before we get any news about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Aside from the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel, we don't know much about where the massive property will go once Avengers 4 fades to black.

You can catch Anthony Mackie as Falcon when Avengers: Infinity War arrives in theaters May 4, 2018. In the meantime, check out our 2018 release list to plan your trips to the movies in the New Year.
