Gwyneth Paltrow May Have Revealed A Big Avengers Spoiler
We're coming up on a very exciting time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. All that stands between audiences and the highly anticipated Infinity War film is a few months and the Black Panther movie, and anticipation is at a fever pitch. The Russo Brothers' Avengers movies will be the accumulation of a decades worth of blockbusters, uniting every hero and a ton of supporting characters in the epic battle against Josh Brolin's Thanos. This includes Gwyneth Paltrow's Pepper Potts, who returned to the MCU through a surprise cameo in Spider-Man: Homecoming. But it looks like the actress and lifestyle guru may have accidentally revealed a major spoiler for Avengers 4, through her Instagram story.
Gwyneth was updating her Insta story from her trailer on the Avengers 4 set yesterday. One of the clips includes her getting a foot rub, where you can see the actress is clad in a motion capture suit. This has led many to believe that Pepper would be suiting up in an Iron Man suit during the film's runtime. You can see the image below.
It looks like Pepper Potts may be getting back into the action with her role in the untitled Avengers 4 film. And this makes her inclusion in the blockbuster far more exciting.
Pepper Potts was one of the original characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in all three Iron Man movies, as well as The Avengers. The true CEO of Stark Industries, her power was mostly in the boardroom, and audiences got to have their first true love story in the shared universe through her relationship with Tony. She eventually got to get involved physically in the events of Iron Man 3, after she was temporarily given super powers due to the Extremis virus. She engaged in hand to hand combat in the threequel's final battle, helping to vanquish the film's villain.
And now it looks like Pepper will likely pilot one of Tony's suits during Avengers 4. This wouldn't be the first time this has happened, as she also temporarily suited up Iron Man 3 when Tony's mansion was destroyed. But with Thanos threatening the entire Earth, the Avengers and Guardians are going to need all the help they can get in order to battle the big purple guy.
Comic book enthusiasts will also be hoping that Gwyneth's post may tease the introduction of Pepper's superhero persona Rescue. As Rescue, Pepper wears a custom suit designed by Tony Stark that shares much of the same powers and abilities, allowing the executive to truly engage in battle. This would be a game changer for Pepper in the MCU, and would be great hat tip to the hardcore comic fans.
However, we've yet to receive an actual confirmation about this possibility. Gwyneth Paltrow hasn't deleted her Instagram story, so it's not like she or the studio are trying to hide her mo-cap suit. Perhaps she'll just temporarily be using one in order to survive an attack, similar to what she did in Iron Man 3. Regardless, it's great to have Pepper back in the MCU, as her absence was felt during the events of Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War.
