Buff Bucky: Look How Ripped Sebastian Stan Got For His Next Movie

Bucky Barnes smiles at Captain America Avengers: Infinity War Marvel

Sebastian Stan's six-pack is so prominent now, even Gwyneth Paltrow might start recognizing it. Unlike, say, Henry Cavill or Dwayne Johnson, the Marvel Cinematic Universe star doesn't always share gym shots. But he was ready for his not-quite-closeup on Friday.

Sebastian Stan made it clear he wasn't just showing off, he was showing the hard work he put in for his upcoming spy movie 355, and also "this other small thing we got comin'" -- aka Marvel's The Falcon and The Winter Soldier series for Disney+.

Oh my! My favorite part is the celeb comments. Jessica Chastain co-stars with Sebastian Stan in the upcoming movie 355, and she replied with two fire emojis surrounding a mind-blown head. Simon Kinberg, who is directing 355 -- after recently directing Chastain in Dark Phoenix -- replied with three shocked face emojis and a fist bump. Édgar Ramírez, who is also in 355, replied with three fist bumps. (I hate trying to describe emojis, but they don't show up here next to basic text. Sad face.)

Here are a few more comments:

Shailene Woodley: dammmmmmmmn homie!Taylor Kitsch: Well earned mate.Paul Walter Hauser: Great work! Can’t wait to eat some Japanese food, using your clavical as my plate.Bosslogic: Suddenly everyone that felt cute actually did delete their post.

This is a pretty solid way of getting people pumped for your upcoming projects. Many fans knew about The Falcon and the Winter Soldier -- starring Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson/Falcon and Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier -- and that's expected to premiere in August 2020. But now I'm guessing a lot of people are suddenly curious about 355, which just started filming in July 2019.

Apparently Jessica Chastain stared talking to Simon Kinberg about making 355 while they made Dark Phoenix together. She pitched a spy movie in the spirit of Mission: Impossible and the James Bond movies. Penélope Cruz, Lupita Nyong'o, Diane Kruger, Fan Bingbing, and Édgar Ramírez co-star with Chastain and Sebastian Stan. News reports billed it as "all female" but there are two guys right there in the main cast, so I'm not sure why it needs a label. Mission: Impossible is never "all-male" even though it stars a majority of men and a couple of women. Anyway.

Shailene Woodley was one of the celebs to comment on Sebastian Stan's post, and she is also his co-star in the upcoming movie Endings, Beginnings. The movie -- which also stars Jamie Dornan -- will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Sebastian Stan also has the war drama The Last Full Measure scheduled to open in late October, co-starring Christopher Plummer, William Hurt, Ed Harris, Samuel L. Jackson, Peter Fonda, and many more. He also recently completed filming The Devil All the Time, which co-stars Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Bill Skarsgård, Mia Wasikowska, Haley Bennett, Jason Clarke, and Riley Keough. (The Devil All the Time used to star Chris Evans, until Sebastian Stan replaced him. So at least he got that former Evans job.)

So Sebastian Stan is a busy guy, but he still made time to get jacked at the gym. Don't feel too lazy, though. You might look like that too if training were part of your job. Keep up with everything heading to the big screen this year with our 2019 movie release date schedule.

Gina Carbone

Gina grew up in Massachusetts and California in her own version of The Parent Trap. She went to three different middle schools, four high schools, and three universities -- including half a year in Perth, Western Australia. She currently lives in a small town in Maine, the kind Stephen King regularly sets terrible things in, so this may be the last you hear from her.
