Arnold Schwarzenegger And Sylvester Stallone Are Now Fake Feuding Over Movie Knives
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone are two of the pillars of the tough guy action films of the ‘80s and ‘90s and the two have shared a (mostly) healthy rivalry over the years. Although the two action icons are both now septuagenarians, that rivalry appears to be alive and well. With the release of Sylvester Stallone’s Rambo: Last Blood, Sly and Arnie are now fake feuding over movie knives. Check it out:
Are we sure it’s movie knives we’re really measuring here? Carrying a big, badass knife is a staple of the Rambo character and Sylvester Stallone signed a Rambo knife for charity. Arnold Schwarzenegger responded to this, congratulating his rival and throwing a little shade his way by doing his best Crocodile Dundee impression and saying “This is not a knife, this is a knife.”
Arnie then pulls out the knife he used in Predator, which looks like it could do some serious damage. The knife is damn near a short sword and easily dwarfs Rambo’s knife. In absolutely hilarious fashion, Arnold Schwarzenegger smugly comments on how the Predator knife is just a little larger than the Rambo one.
Because it’s all a fake feud, Arnie then sincerely congratulates Sly on the release of Rambo: Last Blood and wishes him luck on the film. Passive aggressiveness and backhanded compliments, even cinematic action heroes adhere to social media’s rules of engagement.
It may be a fake feud but this knife-shaming could not go unanswered by Sylvester Stallone, who responded to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s clip in the Instagram caption. Sly first offered gratitude for his friend’s well wishes and then assured the Terminator: Dark Fate star that although Arnold’s knife may be bigger, his knife will always be sharper.
It’s essentially the ‘it’s not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog’ argument. Or, given the size comparisons here, perhaps it’s really the ‘it’s not the size of the boat, it’s the motion in the ocean’ defense. The Predator knife is bigger and flashier, but the Rambo knife is more deadly.
So it’s size versus sharpness in Arnie and Sly’s movie knife feud, but I suppose the better knife sort of depends on who’s wielding it. Rambo probably has the higher kill count with his knife, but Arnold’s Dutch has fought an extra-terrestrial killing machine, which also counts for a lot.

Ultimately though, I think you can say ‘the Rambo knife’, and everyone knows what you’re talking about and the same doesn’t hold true about the Predator knife. That makes Rambo’s knife at least more iconic, if not better from a coolness and utility standpoint.
You can see Sylvester Stallone Rambo wielding a super sharp knife in Rambo: Last Blood, now playing. Arnold Schwarzenegger trades in a big knife for really big guns in Terminator: Dark Fate, in theaters on November 1.
